SWAMPSCOTT — The Swampscott School Committee reworked its governance protocols and heard a middle school update from the MSBA. Meeting at the Senior Center, members agreed to edits including striking "relevance" from the public comment bullet and adding subcommittees to the open meeting bullet, with a revised draft due Sept. 24. Max Casper said the MSBA will decide in December whether the middle school statement of interest advances, with a possible eligibility period of up to 270 days starting in 2027.
Resident Rachel Teradash asked the committee to consider more busing, and Superintendent Jason Kalishman said a bus would cost more than $100,000. The committee approved a consent agenda of three donations and the August minutes.
