Zoning Board approves setback relief for Puritan Road porch.
Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of April 21, 2026
SWAMPSCOTT — Zoning Board approves setback relief for Puritan Road covered porch project. The board unanimously granted a Dimensional Special Permit allowing applicant B. Scott Miller's covered porch to remain six feet from the side property line where code requires 7.5 feet, with Chair Heather L.
Roman explicitly limiting the approval to the dimensional setback issue and declining to rule on building height, square footage, or other code compliance matters reserved for the Planning Board and Building Department. The board also heard an informational presentation from Kleinfelder and the Department of Public Works on proposed zoning bylaw amendments to support MS4 stormwater permit compliance, including revisions to parking and landscaping standards; the amendments are expected to proceed to Planning Board review before December 2026 Town Meeting consideration.
