SWAMPSCOTT — Water and Sewer Infrastructure Advisory Committee unanimously backs Stacey Brook bacteria-monitoring framework. The five-member committee voted 5-0 to recommend that the Select Board support the Allen and Amore proposal and direct all testing agencies to record bacteria levels at both Swampscott and Lynn culvert discharge points. Vice Chair Brian Drummond will draft and present the letter to the Select Board.
The committee set four priorities for 2026: continued Stacey Brook focus, water balance study investigation, community outreach, and completion of a new sewer lateral by-law for the May town meeting vote. The town's FY 2028 budget includes $650 for vacuum truck purchase to support regular catch basin cleaning, intended to reduce bacteria in the sewer system.
