Tree Committee approves April minutes and sets June planting.

Tree Committee · Meeting of May 14, 2026

Swampscott Tree Committee approves April minutes and confirms June planting schedule. The committee, chaired by Tara Gallagher, will receive 30 new street trees—20 shade trees and 10 understory trees—after Memorial Day, with alternate sites identified if residents decline plantings. Gino Cresta, Director of DPW and Tree Warden, reported no removals or scheduled plantings since April and requested notification of forestry workshops for crew attendance.

A tree hearing is set for May 28 with a Norway maple at 24 Manton Road on the agenda, and the Nelson Darling Memorial Tree planting ceremony will be held June 7 at 3:00 p.m. in Linscott Park.
