Solid Waste Advisory Committee approves prior minutes, reviews RFP and survey work.

Solid Waste Advisory Committee · Meeting of March 2, 2026

SWAMPSCOTT — Solid Waste Advisory Committee approves prior minutes and advances work on waste services vendor RFP and multi-family recycling survey. Chair Wayne Spritz led the two-hour meeting, where the RFP Contract Workgroup reported near completion of the proposal with an expected vendor start date of July 1. Committee member Emily Westhoven will revise draft survey questions designed to gather feedback from residents in multi-unit housing not currently serviced by the Town regarding recycling, data that will inform whether the Town should mandate recycling participation.

The committee also coordinated promotion of an upcoming Repair Cafe with six appliance repairers, three seamstresses, and one plant specialist already signed up as volunteer repairers.
