SWAMPSCOTT — Select Board, School Committee, and Finance Committee held joint meeting on school budgeting and town-school agreements. Massachusetts Association of School Committees representatives Tracy Novak and Alicia Mallon presented on school funding practices. Three committees reviewed six active memoranda of understanding, with Mary Ellen Fletcher raising questions about utility reserve compliance and the School Committee's fiscal 2025 spending patterns.

Superintendent Jason Calichman reported schools came in 1.3 percent under budget in fiscal 2025; the Nahant revolving fund currently holds $410,000. School Committee budget discussion and long-term budgeting were both tabled.
