Swampscott Retirement Board approves five new members and one retirement. The Contributory Retirement Board, chaired by Thomas H. Driscoll Jr., voted unanimously to admit five new members hired between December 29, 2025 and January 5, 2026: firefighters Janelle Mazzaferro and Javier Zanetta, custodian Joseph Stache, patrol officer Nathaniel Espinal, and ABA tutor Akalia Samms.
The board also unanimously approved the retirement of SPD Lieutenant Thomas Hennessey, effective January 31, 2026, after 31 years and three months of service.
