Planning Board continues two petitions, postpones ADU hearing over notice error
Planning Board · Meeting of February 9, 2026
SWAMPSCOTT — The Swampscott Planning Board postponed a hearing on an accessory dwelling unit at 68 Puritan Lane after discovering a discrepancy in the legal notice, marking the second delay for applicant Peter F. Pitman. The board also continued a petition from B.
Scott Miller for a porch and new gabled roof at 80 Puritan Road to March 9, 2026, noting insufficient voting members present; Chair Edward Dooley recused himself, leaving three board members to vote unanimously for continuance. Staff briefed the board on the Swampscott 2035 Master Plan timeline, with Draft 1.5 expected by end of February and final presentation scheduled before May Town Meeting, and updated members on pending MS4 stormwater permit compliance amendments under development with the Department of Public Works.
