Planning Board continues ADU hearing; quorum absent for final vote

Planning Board · Meeting of March 2, 2026

Swampscott Planning Board continued a hearing on a 736-square-foot accessory dwelling unit and pool house at 68 Puritan Lane but deferred a final vote due to absent members. Applicant Peter F. Pitman presented the proposal on behalf of property owner Jason Baletsa, with landscape architect Matthew Pilis explaining site plans featuring pervious paving and stormwater management.

Chair Edward Dooley, Vice Chair Angela Ippolito, and Member Bill Quinn voted unanimously to continue the petition to the March 9 meeting, where the board will have full quorum to act. Board members also discussed potential zoning bylaw updates related to signage and administrative review procedures, and noted forthcoming amendments tied to the MS4 stormwater permit program.
