SWAMPSCOTT — Open Space & Recreation Plan Committee advances infrastructure and conservation initiatives. The committee, meeting virtually May 12 with Chair Tania Lillak and three members present, approved prior minutes unanimously and assigned multiple action items. Director of Community & Economic Development Marzie Galazka committed to applying for PARC grant funding to rehabilitate basketball courts at Phillips Park after a previous $80,000 LAND grant request was rejected.
The rail trail design is underway for review by end of May, with a public hearing anticipated. The Friends of the Rail Trail have raised $150,000 toward design costs. The committee scheduled its next meeting for June 9, 2026 at Town Hall.
