Conservation panel approves coastal dwelling project with native plant conditions

Swampscott Conservation Commission unanimously approves coastal reconstruction with native plant landscaping rules. The commission voted unanimously February 3 to issue an Order of Conditions for razing and reconstruction of a single-family dwelling at 69 Puritan Road, a project by Williams & Sparages LLC for Dandreo Brothers General Contractors. Modified conditions require the applicant to submit a native plant landscaping plan excluding invasive species including Burning Bush and Japanese Barberry.
The commission eliminated a condition requiring spreading juniper plantings along the seawall to dissipate storm surge.
