Open Space & Recreation Plan Committee · Meeting of August 11, 2026

Open Space Committee advances projects with Archer Street and Foster Pond grand openings planned. The Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee voted unanimously to approve prior minutes and continued work on multiple acquisition and development projects. Chair Tania Lillak led the committee in pursuing grant funding through the state Park and Recreation Fund for park facilities, exploring the National Association of Conservation Districts program providing up to 45,000 dollars annually through Essex County, and seeking Community Preservation Act funds for trail signage.

Committee members are now pursuing grants and preservation funding after the Select Board rejected residential development at the Hawthorne property on August 4.
