Commission approves four historic district renovation projects

Historic District Commission · Meeting of February 2, 2026

Swampscott approves four historic renovation projects. The Historic District Commission unanimously approved four Certificates of Appropriateness during its February 2 meeting: a front door replacement, a window installation, a 28-panel rooftop solar system with energy storage, and a porch conversion to an insulated sunroom. The solar project required batteries and inverters be concealed at the property's rear.

A fifth application for window replacement was deferred pending documentation showing necessity of replacement over restoration.
