Commission approves conditions for Pine Street apartment development

Conservation Commission · Meeting of February 24, 2026

Swampscott Conservation Commission approves coastal apartment conditions. The commission unanimously approved an Order of Conditions for a proposed three-story apartment building at 12-24 Pine Street and 10 New Ocean Street, requiring prohibition of invasive plant species and perpetual maintenance of stormwater management. Representatives of B'nai B'rith Housing New England, Inc., confirmed the landscaping plan will use local species only.

In separate business, the commission issued a negative Determination of Applicability for a proposed access road at the 30 Danvers Road mining facility, finding an abandoned stormwater feature is not jurisdictional under the Wetlands Protection Act.
