Commission approves boiler vent installation with screening plantings

Swampscott's Historic District Commission approves new heating vents, defers door replacement review. The commission unanimously approved a Certificate of Appropriateness for boiler vent installation at 22 Hardy Rd from homeowners Peter Gibb and Sophie Volpe, with the condition that evergreen plantings will screen the vents from public view. Chair Richard Smith had provisionally approved the installation due to an urgent heating need during winter.

The commission deferred Adam Cataldi's front door replacement request at 22 Banks Ter, requesting further contractor documentation.
