Board approves FY2026 exemptions, expands assessing staff

SWAMPSCOTT — The Swampscott Board of Assessors unanimously approved real estate exemptions and CPA applications at its February meeting. Chair Neil Sheehan and Vice Chair Charles A. Patsios voted to approve FY2026 real estate tax exemptions totaling $143,726.45 and backed 23 qualified Community Preservation Act exemptions while denying three non-qualified applications.

Director of Assessing Paul Plouffe also secured board agreement to expand administrative support by five hours for deed management, with assistance offered by Select Board Liaison Mary Ellen Fletcher.
